"Save the cockroach" wouldn't get much traction. But that's not your point, which I happen to agree with. One can dilute a cause until until one doesn't need to do anything.

It's not just diluting the cause. It's an insult to black people to say "all lives matter" in response to the "black lives matter" slogan. Of course, all lives matter, but not everyone's life is under attack the way black peoples lives and health are under attack due to racism.
Individuals may suffer discrimination, but racism adds its own, unique layer.

Yes, it led to an interesting exchange with one of my ipernity friends.
We ultimately had to "agree to disagree", but at least, it was a respectful exchange.
It is hard for some Europeans to really understand the long history of racism here in the US.
