It takes a lot of tears to finish even a short novella ...;-)
Marco F. Delminho, Frans Schols, Fred Fouarge, ColRam and 4 other people have particularly liked this photo

Sarah P. club has replied to rdhinmn club‘The light music of whisky falling into glasses,’ James Joyce. Dubliners.
“Samuel Beckett’s last days, recalls Knowlson, were spent in Paris in an old-people’s home. Oxygen canisters stood by his bedside for emphysema, yet he smoked cigarillos regardless and was often mildly squiffy from tots of Bushmills (his favourite whiskey). Immersed in Dante, Beckett appeared to be looking forward to death. He was ‘having fun’, remembered the poet Derek Mahon, who visited him a month before he died in 1989 at the age of 83.”
Flann O’Brien was a Paddy’s whiskey man.
“I love the plop of whiskey in a glass” Brendan Behan.
Of course, for all four of these writers, the tears would be tears of laughter. Sláinte!
