We found this in Leven Canyon. It is a female, which you can tell by its long ovipositor on the tail. This will pierce caterpillar skin to lay eggs inside, to hatch and feed on the caterpillar alive!!

This youngster is recovering from having flown into our patio doors at Loongana. We rescued it and put it in a bush to recover safely.

There were many clumps of these vivid flowers growing in bogs in the Vale of Belvoir Conservation Area by Lake Lea.

These were in the beautiful Vale of Belvoir Conservation Area near Lake Lea. They were buzzing with dragonflies.

We saw a lot of snakes in Tasmania, but this was the only one I got close enough to photograph - only catching its tail!
