Contribution for The Sunday Challenge #472: new on the old, like a patch on an old trousers, a sprout on a plant, a new window on an old façade, a new spare piece in an old machine... a new lens on an old camera...

Such a tough challenge! I could not get anything new shipped within a week, to wear on this old carcass of mine. Neither got anything new to grow up in a week, except maybe mold. And since giving up on DSLRs, no new lenses either. =P

So, I went out to see if there are any new posters on a billboard. I was lucky! Pike Zither had released a new song! Pike what, you may ask. And so do I. Definitely news to me at least.

Sit tight, and fasten your seatbelts. Here we go! BEWARE! SOME DIRTY LANGUAGE USED! Those boys should wash out their mouth with soap! =D

Not Your Merchandise by Pike Zither at Youtube

But there's a message, and it has a happy and peaceful ending. Worth to check out.

Stark difference from the beginning of the video compared to the ending. Don't let them steal your paradise - quite the message. Had not heard of Pike Zither either. Photograph works well for the challenge.

Good find, sorry if it was not a very easy one.

I am amazed! =O
How on earth you can have heard about such a local band? Or maybe they are more international than I would have guessed.

First I've heard of Pike Zither but as an old Hendrix fan, Ii'll be looking out for more! But that's based on 30 seconds that we're allowed to hear . So I'll reserve judgment until I listen some more! But anyway, thank you for that, Sami!

OK, I heard much of the Youtube tape and agree with those who recognise the similarity with Hendrix in the guitar sound. Not my favoutrite vocal style but not bad musically; I think I would have been more impressed if I had been listening to this in the late 60s rather than the early 20s!

That is indeed my thoughts. These days almost all music sounds like done already before. So, very difficult to find much of new. And especially something new that rocks the world.

And this one is not my favorite music either. I only became curious about it because of the poster. And then I did like the way how they manage to make a musical piece that is long and where the ambiance changes, like two songs combined.

I am actually very much as a fan of progressive rock and ambiance music where melodies can continue and change seamlessly even for full side of a LP (20 minutes).

It seems that no-one takes the old posters down. Soon the billboard will become very thick. :-)))
It's good that you persevered with the challenge, Sami. Sometimes I just give up.

Old posters are taken down every now and then. But the pins and parts of the ribbed off posters are stacking within time: www.ipernity.com/search/photo?w=499633&q=billboard

Although, what you were wondering, actually did happen once. It was an amazing view! Indeed a thick layer of posters put over each other for months! I try to find the shot of it from my archives, and upload it.
