According to one Swedish consumer product test, most of the coffee paper filters contain lead, even more than the recommendations are. But no matter how I tried to seek an explanation why it is so, I could not find it. I assume lead is somehow used when processing the paper.
Anyway, I then decided to start using paper filters that were discovered not to contain lead at all.
