Observation

Observation
"Friends are Like snowFLakes, when you Pee on them, they disappear"

Soundtrack by Aeon Waves: soundcloud.com/ambientmusicalgenre/aeon-waves-we-could-have-saved-us

This writing on the wall is almost unnoticeable, written with some pastel pencils. I had to process the image very heavily to get the text more visible. As a result I got interestingly murky image (original on notes).

Graffiti as an art form kind of declares it's own doom. Although graffiti artists in general respect each others' work, they are often made on places where they are in danger to become removed, sooner or later, in a way or another. And that makes them as very temporary art. So, it could be claimed it is almost a duty for any photography artist to record graffiti art, at least the best of them ;-)

This one is of course not much of an art, but more likely an expression of opinion, or an observation. But try to replace word "friends" with something else like "world" or "peace", and you get something much more profound out of it ;-) And that is what art should do, no matter if it is good or bad in anyone's standards: provoke some thoughts in the audience.

To see a very good example, please go and see this exceptionally well documented graffiti art photographed by Stephane: www.ipernity.com/doc/483861/album/918004

Yes, I found out the curves tool alone gives interesting possibilities to change the atmosphere of the photo very dramatically!

The underpass feels oppressive- that makes the neon graffiti pop! I'm glad though that I can't smell the smell;-)

Sami Serola has replied to Gudrun
Well, if you see the original on notes, it does not look so "smelly" ;-) And it is actually rather "tasteless" and well ventilated place =D

Thank you Gudrun =)

Yes, that's how it is...

But I personally think friends are like trees. They provide shadow, air and comfort. And they should be allowed to grow free =)

Exactly my thoughts this morning! ;-) So, I rather see myself as a tree, if some metaphor must be used =D

Wow, I really like how this turned out, Sammy; the processing gives the letters an eerie, haunting quality, kind of like how I would imagine what King Belshazzar would have seen with his 'writing on the wall'! ;-)

A very dramatic difference between the original and your processed results Sami, how did you even see the writing in the first place? Like the finished results and of course the phrase brought a chuckle. :)
Sami Serola has replied to Clickity Click
Thank you Chris =)

First time I saw this (few weeks ago) I walked along the sidewalk next to this wall, and there it merely almost impossible to notice the colorful writing. So, you kind of read the message while walking by. To see the whole graffiti at once, I actually had to go to the other side of the road, where is no sidewalk.

If you wish to see the place on Google Sreet View, then here's the link: goo.gl/maps/ruYQNjcw1c32
