Oh I didn't think to look on the back Edna! I know what I would write, but I cannot say, or it won't come true! :-))

Das waren noch Zeit,als noch diese Grüße per Hand überbracht wurden liebe Rosa,ich war ja auch 30 Jahre Briefzusteller,es war früher eine sehr schöne Zeit,obwohl das Wetter früher zum Zustellen viel härter war,als heute,ich war das ganze Jahr nur mit dem Fahrrad unterwegs,bei Regen,Sturm oder -20 Grad,man war abgehärtet und der Beruf war auch richtig schön,da hat sich heute sehr viel verändert!
Ich mag deine schöne Aufnahme mit dieser schönen alten Weihnachtskarte liebe Rosa:))

There is something lovely about the old cards Günter. We have people like you to thank for delivering our Christmas greetings then! It must have been very cold in the winter, especially on two wheels! My middle brother was a printer, but when made redundant he too was a postman and he loved it...he did eventually have four wheels though ;-)

So unusual, I certainly wouldn't bother using modern cards but this looks great Rosa. I might just have to pop over there!

They have decorated the house very beautifully this year Maggie. I have an album full of old postcards and Christmas cards that I inherited from my late mum. I love looking at them.

They were real works of art some of the older cards. Very nicely spotted and captured Rosa.

They really were Doug. As well as an album of old cards, as I mentioned to Maggie, I have the first Christmas card my father sent to my mum. He wrote a poem...all I will say is, he was no poet, LoL!

A really beautiful card............and the lace trimming makes it really special. Someone would have gone to a lot of trouble to make this.

They were beautiful on this tree Keith. As I mentioned to Doug and Maggie, I have an album of old cards that belonged to my mother and I love looking at them. Some are silk and they are all very special.
