Thank you very much for your kind comments Günter. The forests around the formal gardens are full of wildlife, if lucky enough to catch them, which I was this time. I did just miss a deer though ;-)) All the best, Rosa.

Such a wonderful shot of the Robin...........perfectly posed with spot on focus and feather detail. I love the vibrant red and green colours.

Both PiPs are gorgeous.............the Pheasant is beautifully coloured and stands out very well against it's surroundings.

I love the Snake's Head Fritillary too. These are lovely specimens and you've captured them beautifully.

Top notch photos Rosa!

I only just managed to catch the robin and the pheasant Keith. The fritillary was much easier, and not even a wind to blow them about ;-))

Thank you for your kind comments and hope you are having a good Tuesday.

Always good to see such wild life Rosa. Our robin was in the garden this morning. Here is a little story you may be interested in: Since Sunday we have had a male blackbird build a nest over the one conservatory downspout (silly bird). After a night of light rain (Monday morning), the whole gutter was flooding with the water having nowhere to go (this would surely drown any new hatchlings). So I moved the nest away trying to discouraged the bird. Unfortunately a few hours later it was back sitting in the bare gutter where the nest had been. I thought at first it was the female laying its eggs but no.... so I later replaced the nest next-door to the actual down drainpipe where at least it will not dam the gutters and would be somewhat dryer. A few hours ago, the bird was back sitting in its nest again -no doubt trying to attract a female to it.

Such is life! - On the edge. Herb

Rosalyn Hilborne club has replied to Herb Riddle club
Yes it is Herb. There always seems to be a robin to greet the visitors at Stourhead.
Well, that is amazing! After all your efforts, let's hope the blackbird does attract a female ;-))
You went the extra mile Herb!

Good evening, Rosa.

Herb Riddle club has replied to Rosalyn Hilborne club
The female is now siting in the nest Rosa! I made a wood divider to act as a dam in case the waters come again but a few mins ago found my effort tossed into the garden some 4 yards away! She must not have liked that there :)

A lovely collection Rosalyn I think robins sit waiting for a human to appear in case it means food, I like your description of the snakes heads being in the wilder part of the garden I think that sums mine up !! I have two in the pond I didn't put them there. Have you seen any pheasants with different markings I saw some silvery grey ones I asked a birder he said there are getting a few variations about
2 years ago.
Rosalyn Hilborne club has replied to Peter Castell club
Thank you Peter. This robin was very busy gathering nest materials. My late niece once kept exotic birds and had a silver and a golden pheasant. They are very beautiful. Maybe the one you saw had escaped! I haven't ever seen one in the wild.

I am surprised and delighted by this side of your talent, Rosa. The robin and its bokeh are delightful, while the pheasant in its natural element is more than real. The snake heads are not to be outdone. A trio spontaneously and very nicely captured, adding to your eclectic bestiary and herbarium.
I wish you another day of authenticity. Nature has so many resources in the face of our confusion...

Thank you so much for your very generous comments Eric. The pheasant was chasing off another male! I tried to get them both in the picture, but he made a quick getaway ;-)

Hi Rosa
I like this picture very much!
It is a very exciting composition
Fantastic red colours too
I have a robin around my garden, but sadly no sign of a pair of blue tits this year. They seemed to like the house, but I haven't seen them for weeks.
Best Wishes, and stay safe!!
Peter
PS, sorry for lack of contact recently, I’ve been away!

Don't worry about any lack of contact Peter. I hope you are enjoying your time away.
