I'm guessing the view there is one-directional only Rosa! I like the way the bench is framed in the stone archway and the vibrant green foliage surrounding it is lovely. I like the nice carpet of brown leaves under the bench too.

What a delightful find Rosa!! Stourhead is wonderful with all it's features but this is so nice because it looks so natural. I love all the ivy and the mosses around it. It is just like a little Hobbit house!!

It is a very exciting idea..
My first thought was that when you stand up you bang your head..
And the next one was it reminded my of the old Anderson shelters which we used to have in our back gardens.. A real adventure!

No the ice house is near the main Stourhead House Peter. This cave is halfway up a steep hill to the Temple of Flora. I don't often go there but felt I needed the exercise this time :-) The seat came in very handy for a rest.
