I was quite a long way from the Little Egret and took lots of shots, but this was just about the best of them. I was hoping it would come closer, and the ducks took off all of a sudden, so I count myself lucky to have got a shot of them.

Three great shots. A lovely elegant shot of the swan. We never see little egrets here so it's nice to get a view. I feel quite sorry for the female ducks at this time of year. No peace !

A nice selection of bird images Rosalyn, a bird fanatic I know said that 25 years ago a Little Egret would have been a major event in the birding world

Thank you Peter. The only other time I have seen egrets was along the Helford River in Cornwall. There must have been 30 or so in a tree. I got some pictures, but not very good ones.

Por algo los pueblos antiguos se establecían junto a los ríos; eran cazadores y pescadores. Rosa tomaste la cámara y te fuiste al río y tuviste buena caza.
Un cisne al que el riesgo no le quita el apetito. Una garceta común. Tres Anades real (azulón) [Anas platyrhynchos] machos. Buena caza incruenta y bonita serie.

Thank you Jose Manuel. Yes I usually just hunt with the camera :-) I was pleased to see so much wildlife, as when I first arrived, the river was unusually empty...except for the young woman! The first duck is a female trying to escape from the two noisy drakes.

Lovely images. Having just viewed the territorial swan, I feel you were lucky he didn't attack your camera! A beautiful flying trio of the ducks too.

Thank you George. He was just anxious to get the girl off the river. My camera didn't seem to bother him....I was a little way away though!

A fine trio of shots from the riverbank Rosa, each is a great picture in its own right. Put together like this they combine to tell the tale of life on the river at this time of year. I have not seen a Little Egret (or a big one come to that!) in this area. It is certainly a beautiful bird.
