I missed my first booking to Stourhead as it was a day after we were locked down, so I was determined to go this time, whatever the weather. Many thanks for your kind comments Roger.

Well done on braving the rainy weather Rosa!

This is a lovely image.............I really like the columns and the ornate garlands have been done very well. Fantastic detail and colour too.

The ducks of course, seem as happy as...........well, ducks in the rain and wet! I especially like the textures in the water made by the ripples and raindrops.

I don't know which I like best. The garlanded pillars or the ducks in the rain. They are both beautiful. It just shows you shouldn't let the weather put you off. It's amazing what lovely shots there are to be had in adverse conditions.

I love the Christmas decorations on the pillars, Rosa. The contrast in both colours and textures is very striking.

When it comes to your Christmas preparations, I am sure you are efficient and well organized. In other words, you have all your ducks in a row.

Glad you made the effort Rosalyn, I think public enthusiasm is very low. None of the big named NT properties seem to be putting on any Christmas display around here, such a shame, not their fault but £90 joint membership seems to be wasted.

Normally I would have gone to Lacock Abbey and Montacute House, both NT and have lovely Christmas decorations, but I am still not travelling too far and Stourhead is only up the road. I have just renewed my membership, but hardly used the one that I have replaced unfortunately.

Your perseverance has been well rewarded Rosa, a fine pair of shots. I like the one of the ducks best with the reflections and falling raindrops creating the circles.

¡Ah! En la foto posterior a esta, se veía este edificio y olvidé citarlo en el comentario. Su posición alta sobre el lago, rodeado de arbolado, y su arquitectura con ese frontón triangular y las columnas que algún buen jardinero se ocupó de adornar rodeándolas con collares floridos, recuerda a la arquitectura griega y romana.

This building is the Temple of Flora Jose. The other building on the opposite side of the lake in the next picture is The Pantheon. Yes, they are inspired by Greek buildings. There is also another, called The Temple of Apollo, but it is on much higher ground, so we didn't got to it on this occasion. Many thanks for your kind and interesting comment.

Oh,das glaub ich dir,dass es wegen des Wetters nicht leicht war,richtig zu fotografieren,man braucht halt 2 Hände,aber es ist dir sehr schön gelungen liebe Rosa,mir gefällt das Treiben der Enten in diesen Teich und diese Säulen haben sie wunderschön geschmückt :))
