Isn't that marvellous artwork, particularly in how it's been integrated into the landscape. Beautiful images too, Rosa.

It is great artwork George. You have to be very careful walking through the dark grotto, but it's worth it. Thank you for your kind comments.

An interesting site quite in the style of the 18th century. I like its look a little surreal and dreamlike!!!!!!!
Have a nice sunday evening!

A fine pair of shot Rosa, the main image could be quite spooky at the right time of day. I like the colours on the rocks of the entrance.

Thank you very much Doug. It was nice to see the subtle coloured lights. A bit different, but I think it might be the first stage of their festive lights walk. It's the first time they have tried this event in Stourhead. I think it will be very popular.

Best regards, Rosa.

Thank you Jean. It was made a little lighter with the coloured lights, but you still need to watch your step through the grotto!

Very nice Rosa, tricky exposure in those caves, you have it spot on. Well done.

Thank you very much John. More luck than judgement getting it right I think. I have had a few disastrous shots in the grotto :))

A lovely pair of images Rosa............the statues are quite beautiful and are in amazing condition considering how long they've been there. I love the colours in the rocks as well. Very nicely taken.

Thank you very much Keith. The lights are a fairly new addition. They are holding a month of after dark, illuminated walks around Stourhead. It's usually dark and damp in the grotto!

Excellent image on what seems a difficult shot Rosalyn, Lots of photographs from Stourhead have been uploaded to IP over the years but I have never seen this before, Is this a recent installation or has it bee here all time.?
Rosalyn Hilborne club has replied to HappySnapper
Thank you very much Maurice. These are the best two pic's I have ever taken in the grotto....and I have tried many times! I think a lot of people pass the grotto by, as there are quite steep steps down to it and it is also damp and quite dark. The installation has been there for a few hundred years.
