Thank you Doug. Yes, where else ;-)) Some say it is a corruption of the French La Fille de l'Eau, meaning Maiden of the Water and some also say it's Dorset dialect for 'uproar', but I am from Dorset and have never heard that! I think it will remain a mystery but a great event :)

Judging by the number of coats and sweaters in evidence, perhaps a little cold too (nothing unusual there!) Certainly some nice reflections in the village pond!

Ah the joyous sound of concertina's and button accordions together with wooden clogs (yes, I know they are not wearing clogs!) heralds Summer again. Great shots of the other folk band and lovely, almost rare now, village green fair. Looks like folk and dogs having a good time. Thanks for sharing, well done.

We have long had a "Strassenfest" in our neighbourhood which started out to be for local people and has now sadly turned into an event for partygoers, so many locals tend to flee the place...
