15th Century Dovecote.

A nice capture Rosalyn it's more ornate than the one at Kinwarton that has 580 nest holes so about 1200 birds conditions in them must have been grim, they were of course very unpopular because the birds ate everyones crops but only the lord of the manor was allowed to eat the birds, the cause of a revolution in France ( a couple of internal shots on pages 23 & 24)

An amazing survivor Rosa, so very well captured here. The doves were better housed than the majority of the population of the 15th century!
