It looks mostly purple on my screen, Laura. (Purple, blue and red are always difficult for me too. I can never photograph blue lobelia. It always looks purple no matter what I do.)

Anyway, this is really pretty and we appreciate the effort. :)

okay - so i wasn't really thinking and just looked at the wheels in the comment section of the challenge description for the week - i saw light purple across from light green. of course yellow is the complement to purple. so i definitely goofed on the challenge. i suppose if i got it right all the time it wouldn't be a challenge!

glad it looks purple to you - i really do need to calibrate my screen, but it seems daunting.

i know! i know that. but i got distracted by the color wheel example in the discussion for the challenge - the middle wheel shown down in the comments shows a light purple and a light green being complements and so i just went with that. my bad!

Purple ís a difficult colour to photograph. I don't know why. Some time ago I photographed purple crocusses with two different cameras and the result was quite different.

thank you - and yes, purple. my long time favorite color and indeed hard to capture. probably because is had red in it which is the worst. it also doesn't help me that my computer screen isn't calibrated.

I think it's a Salvia if it is the colour looks correct, but all screens are different
There is no way of knowing that we see the same colour, when we were little we were told grass is green, but is the colour you see as green the same as the one I see as green ???

it does seem a bit like Salvia, but i think i would have remembered that name when i bought this flower. it came in purple and pinkish red - i bought both! it is amazingly happy in my untended back yard.

i'm so happy that you talk about not knowing if different people see colors the same. [ha! we dont' even spell the word the same!] i've always wondered about that. the mind is such a curious thing and we know so little about it.

Great focus, Laura. Love the light and colours. Especially love how the colours and detail gently fade away into the background. I say this must be seen on black...it is a most beautiful result.

Lovely capture of this Salvia. Purple on my screen. Yes Purple Red and White flowers are difficult to get depth of colour or true colour right. Well done Laura Regards Tess.
PS the element if find the effects the colour of the subject is how bright or dark the light conditions are shining on the subject. To compensate this element I play with Aperture values and Exposure compensation until I get what I see is what I get.

Thanks so much. Glad it appears purple for you. Good plan to work with the settings to make it (usually) darker or lighter. I'll work on remembering that!
