Thank you, Peter. I'm really glad you like it. I love our mountains. This one I only see on the train trip back up from California, and then only if I wake up early enough as we pass it around 5-6am. Happily this one came out without the power lines in the photo.

Thanks! It has only taken about 30 years of trying to be awake at the right moment, on the correct side of the trai , with the right sky, with the electric lines not showing and a hill not covering up part of the mountain to get this right... It is indeed gorgeous. I would say that mt hood is a competitor, but I think Shasta looks better from more angles than hood, but hood has a better look from the portland vantage. i tried to imagine which angle you were seeing it from that morning - now i know!
