Newhaven in East Sussex is our local port. It has a regular ferry service to Dieppe in France - twice a day in winter, three times in summer. There are a couple of freight quays used by vessels trading in scrap metal and aggregates. On the west side there are fishing boat jetties, a lifeboat station and a small marina.

Unless one catches the boats coming or going further down stream, the fish jetties always obstruct the view. They are higher than the quayside walk, so this fairly low tide offers the best views.
It may just be the way the light is falling, but in this view the hull side looks concave. My earlier photo* is of the port side in brighter weather, but this time it looks more weather-beaten. * www.ipernity.com/doc/philsutters/35576281

Ocean Warrior III and Sea Wolf are advertised as available for line fishing charter. Their rod holders are visible. Some of the other boats in this part of the marina may also be used by sea-anglers.
