Thanks for your research John. Neither performance is to my taste, I am afraid, but it is good to put the photo into context.
Sorry my output isn't very exciting at the moment. I am working on putting together a talk/slideshow on stained glass, due in about 8 weeks, for our fund-raising lecture series. Of course it will only include a small portion of the masses of photos I upload here.

Stained glass is always interesting. I may even go over to an Anglican church near me that has some interesting stained-glass memorials to soldiers of WWI and take photos of them.

I would be interested to see those. We have a strong connection to the WW1 Canadian forces here, as many were posted in camps in and around Seaford. There are 191 WW1 Canadians in our town cemetery, many of whom died of their wounds having returned from the Western Front.

I like your photo of the artiste with his earring and tousled hair, and the video of "Alfredo and His Famous Gypsy Band" that John uncovered makes it even more interesting! I can't say that the music is my cup of tea either, but it provides an intriguing glimpse into the popular entertainment of the 1930s.
