Yellow band at the Thames Festival 17 9 2006

Bien, una escena de música en directo y baile, parece que al aire libre, como en los viejos tiempos... bueno que estábamos en 2006, pero eso fue antes de ayer. La banda es rompedora con una tradición, creo que más fuerte en el teatro, las vestimentas de color amarillo no las quieren poner porque dan mala suerte, sobre todo en los estrenos.

In Shakespeare's 'Twelfth Night' Malvolio is tricked into wearing yellow stockings. He has been told that a lady, who he is trying to woo, would like to see him wearing yellow stockings. She in fact thinks that he looks ridiculous in them. So yellow was unlucky for him. I had not heard that yellow was generally regarded as unlucky by the acting profession. I am not a theatre-goer.
Outdoor performances may be a way of gradually regaining some of the massive losses the performing arts have suffered.
