Juvenile flight -
- soaring
- checking out those huge wings
- his sister was nearby in the nest
- chirping at him
- but didn't join him in the aerial test
- saw no parents
- that is all it means .. I was probably seen
- wonder when they start fishing?

.. if you really want to see one that will knock your socks off, Birds of Prey-Captive or otherwise .. there is one that the photog calls "Death Stare" I think ... oh, it is so funny !
These birds, from eggs (which I couldn't see) to little creatures protected by their parents --- a pure JOY to follow their development.
Ronald, this is only one of a few in-flight shots I got ... most shots are Mom and Dad giving me 'The Look;' ! You are close enough ... Lady !
Peggy C club has replied to Doerthe clubSo glad you like the Osprey photos. These were all taken in Central Florida where there are many lakes well-stocked with fish! Somebody told me - have a lake - stock with fish - then wait.
That might be true, but here in North Carolina where I now live, I'd need to travel over to coast or at least that direction to find any.
Check out Cornell Ornithology to see if the have placed any web-cams in Michigan. The UP certainly has plenty of water.
Let me know what you find out.
Peggy
