Bicycle Rack with "Blue Rope" (+PiP)

Bicycle Rack with "Blue Rope" (+PiP)
Spotted on The Hard, in Portsmouth, Hampshire. A first glance the "rope work" could be real, but in fact it is some very nicely done metalwork painted to look like knotted blue rope.

I thought about adding it to Xata's group, but decided not to push my luck :-)))

A close up look of one of the "ropes" in the PiP.

Gudrun, MaggsMep, Xata, Jenny McIntyre and 9 other people have particularly liked this photo

That is so unusual Keith! I've never heard of The Hard in Portsmouth. Whereabouts is it?
A great find and I like both shots. I must look out for the famous 'blue rope' :-)
Happy Wednesday.

I don't know. how long it's been there, but I suspect I've been walking right past it for years without noticing! Glad you like it Rosa and thanks for commenting.

The Hard is basically the seafront of Portsmouth Harbour, and is the location of the railway station, a bus station, the pier for the Isle of Wight foot ferry and the pier for the Gosport Ferry. In a nutshell, it's the bit between the dockyard gate and the entrance to Gunwharf Quay.

What a novel idea this - and looking at the PiP, you can see that it's metalwork, but done so cleverly to look like rope.
