Still snow and very cold. I meant to go out and look for some landscape shots but I found a forest of icicles just outside the kitchen door. Drips were falling from the snowy roof, landing on plants beneath and freezing again, the ice encasing twigs and buds and branches in the process. I was there for ages. Came in frozen then went out again with my macro lens to freeze once more so I got my quota of fresh air. It was fascinating to see the ice patterns when I got really close up.
By the time I unfroze and processed shots it was hardly worth doing anything else. Some clothes got stuffed in the washing machine then a chat with a neighbour followed by lying around eating toast and bramble jelly and reading an old favourite. A day spent doing what I like to do best.

Don't talk to me about wine. It's recommended that you don't drink alcohol for two weeks after getting the jab. I often go much longer without drinking but once I know I shouldn't I immediately start hankering for a nice bottle of red. My two weeks are up on Monday but , of course, I will have lost the notion then.

Wow! This is excellent Jean...........the patterns in the ice are fantastic! The image in the PiP is just as lovely, especially against the black background.

It's amazing how a macro lens brings out detail you wouldn't otherwise notice.

The patterns amazed me. That's what I love about macro lenses. All these details that I never knew were there.

Both great macros of a subject you won't find very often. For me the PiP just edges it, very nicely done Jean.

That's something I hadn't seen previously, Jean. These certainly illustrate the cold conditions there at present. Two great macro shots.

Macro photography allows us to see so much more and these two pictures are beauties Jean. The main shot has an almost snake like appearance! I think the PiP is amazing and I'm not sure I would have known what it was if you had not told us.
