Freebird & pip

Freebird & pip
The wooden trawler "Freebird" under extensive overhaul at Alexander Noble & Sons Limited, Girvan, Scotland, Unable to find any information on the trawler so she may have had a name change.
The River in the foreground is "Girvan Water" and the image is taken form a pontoon adjacent to the Lifeboat Station.
HFF and a good weekend to everyone.

A large view may be better and see pip for a closer view.

I've had a bit of a trawl around (pun intended) and there are quite a few photos on the company's Facebook page from Aug last year onwards. In particular, there's one dated 26 Aug last year of her arriving at the yard and being described as a "project vessel" and another date 20th Sep last year which seems to indicate she's being converted into a house boat. Nothing I can find about her previous history though.

Love these two beautifully detailed shots of her though........especially the close up view in the PiP. Whatever they're doing to her look like it's going to be hard graft!

Great info Keith and thanks for taking the time to look, I do not use facebook but the September image you refer to would have been the day before I took these images.
Whatever has happened to her a name change is likely but what a project a houseboat would be.
It may be a boat yard project when nothing else is on the ramp because on a return visit another trawler had been pulled up behind her and work diverted to the newcomer.

Your welcome Roger...............I enjoy researching stuff like that :-)

I wouldn't mind a look at it when they're finished, I might keep having the odd look on their Facebook page.
