A super set of images Roger. A narrow street and parked cars plus an ever growing audience must have made this a nightmare of a job. It was fascinating to watch and I am pleased you captured it all so beautifully. The driver still had to get it around the bend at the bottom of the street once he had negotiated this one so deserved the wholehearted round of applause he received. Fascinating as I said but fascinating to see your photos too.

Hello Peter, thank you for the comments, I did wonder at the time why Minehead when the majority of transfers are at Bishops Lydeard, it's possible the loco needs work and the new Seward Road crossing is not yet ready but I have emailed a friend who works at the WSR to see if they have an answer.

The technology used to transport this locomotive is fascinating.
However, the pictures are absolutely worth seeing because of the fantastic historic buildings, which are a perfect complement to this impressive old locomotive, and the modern transport technology.

Thank you, the main building is the Queens Hall built in 1914 as a theater for film and live shows it closed in 1939 and was used by troops for the duration of the war.

Thank you Keith, I had no idea this was happening until arrival in Minehead, I missed the first part of the operation which was the tender unload off of another trailer unit, so it was a quick park the car and back to take these images (and many more of course) what was heartening was the generous round of applause at the end from the crowd that had assembled to watch,
