c1910 Vintage Bureau

c1910 Vintage Bureau
This has been in our family for at least four generations.

Made in England, it originally belonged to my great grandmother, then my father's aunt, then my father, and in 2014, my father gave it to me.

Beautiful bureau, does it have hidden drawers? (My grandmother had one, hence I know)

Thanks Diederik. Inside, it has a very practical desk and filing area with a visible drawer, no secret places, except my Dad used to tape things underneath, sometimes.

Very nice Gillian. I was thinking furniture but we are away, so none of that here on the boat.

isn't it funny to have an old oak bureau containing an XL book (paper made of wood) inside on the subject forest ...................

I know. Many of the books in the bureau are associated with the area where we lived, near the New Forest in Hampshire, England. The Forest was written by Edward Rutherford.

There mus be such a lot of family history associated with this piece. I know you will cherish this for a very long time Gillian. Like the way you tilted the image on the diagonal.
