Can I be a tree, when I grow up ?

Can I be a tree, when I grow up ?
Forced perspective

View towards Noosa Hill and coast in Queensland.

Very tricky. For this one I had the choice of focussing on the foreground, the distance or somewhere in between.
This is somewhere in between :-)

Will definitely try this technique again when I am next at the Eiffel Tower :-) :-) Might be a while!

Manual focus, tripod and flash, f/25.

Earlier effort in the Note on this image, auto focus, no tripod, no flash, f/25.

Forced perspective is a technique that employs optical illusion to make an object appear farther away, closer, larger or smaller than it actually is. It is used primarily in photography, filmmaking and architecture. It manipulates human visual perception through the use of scaled objects and the correlation between them and the vantage point of the spectator or camera.

You are the bravest to post first. I had to smile with the giant flower. Flash is the way to go.

Oh pretty flower why would you want to be a plain green tree when you can be so gorgeous and red? Well done, Gillian!

Ha ha! =D Great! Without the palm tree on right it would have been even perfect ;-)

Thanks Sami. I didn't even think of cropping it as I thought the big palm tree added to the perspective :-)

Thanks Paul. No overseas trips in the plan at the moment, but next time I am near an iconic building I will definitely give it a go :-)

Very good idea, the red flower nicely fitting between the palms.

Thanks Wierd. It would have been very difficult without the vase. I had perched it on top of the gate post of the verandah :-)

Hey, everything is is focus pretty much. I say good job Gillian! I always forget about the flash option so thanks for mentioning that. (My camera only goes to f22.)
