This is very good, with repetition and pattern, plus geometry! A HFF bonanza.

A fence that knows its business with all the neat little boxes behind it.

It's the outer fence of a junkyard, Jean. Behind the inner fence, behind me, were two really mean dogs. In between were all sorts of large sculptures that art students had made from scrap. Altogether much more impressive than the residential neighbourhood.

ah, yes ... the dream of one's own home. Never mind that it looks exactly the same as the 200 next to it.
Just came back from Colorado, and one of the saddest things I saw were those soulless housing developments in the middle of nowhere ... 500 cookie-cutter houses and not a tree in sight. Soulless, not to mention utterly crazy from an ecological planning POV.

As I mentioned to Jean, the residential development here pales compared to what's on this side of the chain-link fence, which is a display of large sculptures made of scrap metal, for this is the outer fence of a junkyard. Mean dogs watched us from behind the inner fence (we were there dumping scrap in the weekend collection bin). A bit edgier than the residential neighbourhood.

Eagerly awaiting pictures of the edgy stuff -- sculptures, junkyard dogs, and all ....

I took a couple of pictures of that; will see if I can do anything with them.

fences in front of fences and a grassy no mans land- what horrors are in those houses to need such a surfeit of barrier-age?
John FitzGerald club has replied to Dutt Changgle
I suspect, dC, the fence in front of the houses is to deter people from sneaking across the field at night and breaking in.

Yep, they don't look too Happy - a barracks or prison feel to the whole thing. If this IS a housing development, they won't hire you as their publicist!

This was taken in London, Ontario, Bob (halfway between Toronto and Detroit). The city is full of townhouse neighbourhoods sold as condos with a wall to make them look distinguished (no gate control, though). The neighbourhood in the distance here, though, probably consists of private homes, but I guess it must have a wall, too, if the condosall have thm.

I love this shot JOhn.................the middle three houses look just like three people peeping over the top of a wall................shades of "Chad".

Each house is unique............just like the others :-)) A cracking image though!

HFF and have a splendid weekend.
