A Rothko sketch on the canvas before he starts to apply paint? Yes, more like minimalism, simple and with a touch of elegance. I will look at it when I am stressed.

I was chiefly interested in what a Rothko or Newman would look like as a photograph, Bob. But maybe I could take some more and sell them as serenity-inducers.

Thanks, Jean. As I mentioned to Bob, I was interested in seeing what a Barnett Newman would look like as a photograph -- especially with variation in the light.

We can never have too much minimalism (or is that a contradiction?).

That's an interesting question, George. I suppose one could argue the ultimate minimalism would be not to produce a work at all. I could see that as either too much (as going too far) or too little (as being nothing).

We have a federal election coming up here. I think I'll see what the parties have to say about this. This could determine my vote, because I'm not happy with any of the rest of their platforms.

It's a very calming shot................and the light has produced some interesting textures if you look closely.

It was the variation in light and texture that interested me, Keith. A painter would to concern themselves only with colour and shape, while a photograph has tiny details, reflections, etc.
