Happy new year. I hope this year's wish will be more effective than last year's.

I've been occupied with other things so haven't been here much. Once the other things are finished with (in a week or so) I'll have more time. May Ipernity soon restore to us the gift of uploading.

Roger (Grisly), Marco F. Delminho, tiabunna, Jean and 9 other people have particularly liked this photo

I knew of a site in a similar state of limbo and it took several months for all the issues involved in transfer to be resolved. I'm guessing Ip will stay as it is for the time being while negotiations continue or until they break down.

I understand, Steve, but nobody's said nothin, and we're all guessing. But I look forward hopefully to some news soon.

Well, now we know something, Steve -- that something may or may not happen. I'm not leaving, but I have to think about what I'm going to be doing here.

I was going to leave IP today.............but I've decided to hang around a little longer in the hope that we'll get some positive news soon.

I too have a Flickr account which I reactivated a while ago but have not started using it yet escept to post a test image. If I do decide to leave, I'll be sure to look you up John.

I'm hanging around, too, Keith. It's past midnight in France and they're still operating, but I guess that doesn't mean much. See ypu pn Flicxkr and, I hope, here.

I've always kept up my Flickr account, though I wasn't posting much to it for a while since they resolutely messed up what I considered my home page. Some friends showed me how to avoid the mess, though it takes an extra click, so I've pretty much gone back there. Interestingly enough, posting a shot in the Ipernity Survivors group causes some Ipernity members who would not bother looking at it here, look and sometimes comment. And vice versa, of course - I see some excellent shots there I wouldn't have seen here.

I'm posting a couple of times a week over there, Bob, and posting more old photos.

I love this pre-Alfred E. Neuman card! I never really left Flickr myself, but I considered Ipernity my primary posting platform until the troubles started. I intend to stay here, however, until something happens one way or another.

That's my approach, Alan. This is a postcard; I received it when I was 13 or 14 and treasured it ever since (and I'm soon going to be 70). Hmmm -- maybe I could post my ephemera here till things become clearer.

Sounds like a plan! I dug out my advertising version of the postcard and posted it. See Me Worry? No!.

I'd never seen one of those, Alan. A clever piece of advertising. And that really is a good depiction of Mr. Neuman.

That's right, Ulrich. As we say here (and you may say there), if I wake up on the green side I'm happy. Seventy is no great age these days, either, and I certainly don't feel 70. I guess the problem is that 70 used to be a great age.

Thanks, Jean. I love it, too. As I mentioned to Alan, I received this when I was 13 or 14 and have kept it into my eighth decade.

I enjoyed reading 'Mad' magazine as a youth.. and remember the 'A.E.Neuman' beaming face very well.. I also picked up on the excellent cartoonist 'Don Martin' and I still doodle his style even today....

I enjoyed mad, too, David, as did most of my generation, and generations after. Don Martin was also a favourite of mine, along with Antonio Prohias, who started "Spy vs. Spy".

That's a great Don Martin face in your drawing. All the best.

Strange feeling of deja vu here...

I think it will take several months, then, perhaps a New Ipernity will rise.

I hope a new Ipernity will rise, too, Steve. I've thought of doing more posting on Flickr, but I really don't like that site. I think my strategy for the next while -- inspired by your group recommendation for this photo -- will be to post photos in additional groups here.

I’ve looked a Flickr, but really don’t like it. I feel fatalistic about it. I will just do what I do, for the time being, whatever that is.

Just realised that I can write articles and paste photos in. That might amuse me for a while longer.
