The remnants of the farm had a rather ghostly feel. The ground was windblown dirt with no ground cover even though the trees were not completely dead and the structures were still in relatively good shape.

Pretty marginal area for agriculture, especially with no irrigation!

I was surprised at the amount of agriculture that does occur across that valley. I guess there's enough drainage from the mountains that there's a fair aquifer below.
