We've really come to be impressed with Forest Service campgrounds. Next year, we'll probably gear our trip much more in that direction.

The Forest Services seem to vary tremendously by Forest in terms of what they provide. I've seen many with good campsites and clean facilities, but I've also seen many where there wasn't a level piece of ground anywhere and the facilities were so wrecked I wouldn't use them.
