The former West Yorkshire bus station/garage in Scarborough – 21 Aug 1987 (55-25)

Friday 21 August 1987 – After closure the West Yorkshire Road Car Company bus station and garage in Northway, Scarborough was taken over by a car dealership.

Through these large doors was the gateway to many a childhood holiday as our coach operating the joint WYRCC and Ribble service X192 from Rochdale would pull in at 1545. From there we would walk the short distance to Nelson Street to my Grandparents house or my Auntie Hazel and Uncle Ken’s house.

The coach booking and enquiry office was beneath where the red and white Citroen signage is now and the open bus station area further along where the long white signage is.
