Yorkshire Coastliner garage/bus station at Malton – 5 May 2002 (482-04)

Yorkshire Coastliner garage/bus station at Malton – 5 May 2002 (482-04)
Sunday 5 May 2002 (approx. 1105) - Yorkshire Coastliner, part of the Blazefield Group, operates services linking Leeds and York with the coastal resorts of Scarborough, Whitby, Filey and Bridlington are operated from their garage in Malton which also features a small bus station. The property had originated with the West Yorkshire Road Car Company. As a boy when we travelled on the joint WYRCC/Ribble service X192 between Rochdale and Scarborough I always looked forward to the call the service made here.

Two Alexander Royale bodied Volvo Olympians stand in the doorway. That on the right is 427 (P427 UUG) which was new in April 1997. I didn’t record the number of the vehicle on the left.
Loading in the bus station alongside the garage building is 431 (W431 CWX), another Alexander Royale bodied Volvo Olympian (new in June 2000) which was duplicating the 0920 service 840 from Leeds as far as Thornton Dale/Thornton-le-Dale. The service vehicle operating through to Whitby was 442 (YD02 UMX), a Wright Renown bodied Volvo B10BLE single decker, standing in front.
