Caravan/recreational vehicle RSD 742J at RAF Mildenhall - 25 May 1991 (also see insert photo) (141-20)

Saturday May 25 1991 - RSD 742J, an Alexander Y type bodied Leyland Leopard, was new to Western SMT as their 2319 in January 1971. In its original form it featured the large style coach windows with 49 coach seats and would have look similiar to the vehicle in the inserted photograph. (The Y type was also available as a bus with smaller windows and bus type seating).

Having been converted to a caravan/recreational vehicle, it was seen at RAF Mildenhall during the annual Air Fete. Photographs seen on the internet show the vehicle in this form in 1985 and also of it attending different events such as the Derby race day etc so I think it was perhaps owned by one of the catering traders attending the fete.
