Mysterious site that inspires imagination and admiration - HFF
The "Roche aux Fées" (Fairies Rock) is the best-preserved dolmen in Europe, a prehistoric "colossus" measuring 19.50 m long, 6 m wide and 4 m high. Its slabs of purple schist form a covered walkway. This type of burial was widespread in the 3rd millennium BC, around 5000 years ago. The particularity of this monument is expressed during the winter solstice, the shortest day of the year, on 21 December, when the first ray of sun rises opposite the entrance to the dolmen. It is said that the fairies built this monument in one night to prove their existence, and that it guarantees the happiness of lovers who count the same number of stones...
Jahrtausend v. Chr., also vor etwa 5000 Jahren, weit verbreitet.
