Saint's fence - HFF

The Mayenne has an impressive number of calvaries, some of them dilapidated. About 6400 wayside shrines, crosses and oratories have been counted in the department. They are part of the historical, cultural and religious heritage, but they are often ignored. Hidden at the end of a small road, the "Little Saint Joseph" is part of it, it was built in the 19th century by the inhabitants to honour the Saint.

CLOTÛRE DE SAINT. La Mayenne compte un nombre impressionnant de calvaires, parfois délabrés. Environ 6400 sanctuaires de chemin, croix et oratoires ont été dénombrés sur le département. Ils font partie du patrimoine historique, culturel et religieux, mais ils sont souvent ignorés. Dissimulé au bout d’un petit chemin, le "Petit Saint Joseph" en fait parti, il a été construit par les habitants au 19e siècle pour honorer le Saint.

ZAUN DES HEILIGEN. In der Mayenne gibt es eine beeindruckende Anzahl an Schreinen, die teilweise verfallen sind. Etwa 6400 Bildstöcke, Wegkreuze und Oratorien wurden im gesamten Departement gezählt. Sie sind Teil des historischen, kulturellen und religiösen Erbes, werden aber oft ignoriert. Der "Kleine Sankt Josef" liegt versteckt am Ende eines kleinen Weges und wurde im 19. Jh. von den Einwohnern zu Ehren des Heiligen errichtet.
