I like the lyric in the first song where he says: "They send Boeings from Tacoma." (Tacoma is about 60 miles from where I live. :)

The other song is a classic that I first heard by Sheena Easton way back when. She does a nice version of it too. (I never have seen "Beaches" but it sounds like a good movie.)

HFF to you, Carol. Watch out for low flying geese! ;-)

I am pleased you liked the links . forgive my geography , - never my best subject - but is Tacoma fairly close to the Canadian Border? I haven't heard the Sheena Easton version, - I will find it and have a listen to it now. 'Beaches' is my go-to weepy movie!! Lol! I can't resist watching it but it always makes me cry. Tacoma is about a 3 hour drive to the Canadian border so not an actual border town so to speak.
