My last ever day of rock climbing was at Shepherd's Crag in Borrowdale in May 1986 and a great day it was too! Sadly, the next day we suffered a prolongued and messy fatality in our group and the enthusiasm went out of our post-grad club. I would have continued but no-one else wanted to. I understood of course. I then went back but to do scrambling and mountain walking only.
