we really must protect our wild flowers ... once gone probably lost forever ...
here where I live ... on many of the dual carriageways into the area .. they
have filled the centre part with wild flowers ;-) poppies of all colours ...
blue cornflowers ... and many more ... and they look wonderful as you
drive past ..all is left wild and natural ... looks unkept ... but for the time
the wild flowers are blooming ... no one minds ... what a wonderful
sight they are ... moves afoot to stop the use of anything that destroys
natural wild flowers to protect the countryside ... the birds ... they
need the seeds too .. bees and butterflies also .. and other insects ...

You are so right! Here in Germany, there are two important reasons why the wildflowers become less: the intensive use of herbicides by farmers (especially glyphosate in roundup, produced by Monsanto) and mowing of the field margins and roadsides before the herbs have formed seeds.

Schönes Licht und Farben. Die Komposition ist superb und weit vom Üblichen entfernt.
Leider ist die Entscheidung über Glyphosat halbherzig und zu Gunsten des Herstellers verschoben. Das Zeugs muss aus den Regalen verschwinden!

... leider hat die EU-Kommission gestern anders entschieden. Die entgültige Entscheidung soll ein neues wissenschaftliches Gutachten in ca. 2 Jahren bringen :(

Und jetzt darf das Zeug wieder 18 Monate weiter verwendet werden - nur weil sich unsere hochbezahlten, gewählten Volksvertreter nicht einigen konnten... Armes Europa !!!

Als ich noch Kind war, waren die Äcker und Felder voll von bunten Blüten und es gab noch Acker-Raine mit Tieren und vielen Pfalzen und Blumen.

... mittlerweile muss man hier bei uns regelrecht nach Mohnblumen suchen, und Kornblumen habe ich dieses Jahr noch keine gesehen. Die Kornrade ist in der Gegend mittlerweile verschwunden ... :((

In unserer Gegend werden sie wieder mehr und ich bin froh drüber...
