Difficult Circumstances

One difficulty on mountain tours in early summer: fields of old snow, especially in the north-facing gullies. Those who are not sure-footed should avoid such paths.
Here, an old snow field in the Jubilee Trail in the Emperor Mountains (Tyrol, Austria). At least nice people have made the edge gap of the snow field easier to overcome with a ladder.

Eine Schwierigkeit bei Bergtouren im Frühsommer: Altschneefelder, insbesondere in den nordseitigen Rinnen. Wer nicht trittsicher unterwegs ist, sollte solche Wege meiden.
Hier versperrt der Altschnee den Jubiläumssteig im Kaisergebirge (Tirol, Österreich). Immerhin haben nette Leute die Randkluft des Schneefeldes mit einer Leiter leichter überwindbar gemacht.
