A wonderful coastal landscape Gudrun, captured in glorious light............the rocks in the foreground and those impressive basalt columns look splendid and the light has brought out the super details in them. Great to see some birds flying around as well.

I like the PiP too.........although reading the link about safety concerns sounds a bit worrying, especially given the location the ferry works in.

In 2014 we took the predecessor of this "Baldur", a clapped out former Dutch ferry...
As "Vagan" the Lofoten ferry operated reliably in much rougher waters. They bought her cheaply and should have given her a new engine but they seem to run this line with the minimum they can get away with.

I was impressed that the authority only "think" that there is no danger to passengers.........shouldn't they actually "know".

They should indeed! As the ferry service obviously still is running the problems seem to have been solved for the time being....

The cliffs look beautiful against he golden sunlight and blue sky Gudrun! I like your PiP also, seeing the houses around the harbour. They look very cosy! Maybe it's time to retire the ferry before there are more problems.

Tolle Felsen und mein erster Eindruck der Fähre war, in Norwegen sehen die irgendwie zuverlässiger aus. ;-)

Schönen Dank, Jens! Haha, die fuhr zuverlässig auf die Lofoten, bis dort auf neue LNG-Fähren umgestellt wurde. Dann haben 's die Isländer günstig erstanden und gedacht, sie müssten die Maschinen nicht ersetzen.... Die Vorgängerfähre sah auch ziemlich runtergewirtschaftet aus, mit der bin ich mal bei stürmischer See gefahren;-)

Marvellous light and beautiful images, Gudrun. Those basalt cliffs certainly are spectacular! I guess, after 53 years of service, the ferry is due for comprehensive maintenance.

These columns remind me of Fingal's Cave rather than the Giant's causeway, Gudrun. The wild and wide-angled scenery is magnificent. That's one thing I really miss about where we live - no big skies and coastal scenery.

I also miss the sea, I'm even further from the caost than you are!

Besten Dank, Reiner! Solange der Verlauf halbwegs leicht ist, geht die Quarantäne noch... Ich kenne 2 Fälle, die kämpfen schwer, nach 3 Wochen kaum in der Lage aufzustehen und der andere mit Long Covid seit einem halben Jahr....
