Tulips

Take only one shot of anything of your choosing, relying on your knowledge of manual settings.

I didn't have enough time this week to go out for the night shot I intended, so I tried a high key instead.

Camera on tripod, manual mode (M) and manual focusing. I used live view (10x) as my eyesight isn't good enough for manual focusing through the viewfinder. White balance: daylight ( 5150 Kelvin).

This is a jpg in small size, SOOC. On the display I didn't notice the ugly dark corner, I should have zoomed in just a bit more....
The overexposure (about 2 stops) was intentional though the jpg has blown out whites which the RAW doesn't show that strongly.

This is really good for using Live View. (I can never use it myself and always have to use the viewfinder.) I love the high key with these white tulips. So pretty!

Thanks a lot, Karen! I can use live view only when I have the camera on a tripod and I only can use manual focusing when using live viwe. Through the viewfinder most of my photos will turn out blurred if I don't use autofocus...;-)

I was lucky I could dial my diopter in my viewfinder to fit my vision. I have the opposite situation. So often I can't see clearly in my Live View.

It all depends on which bit of your eyesight is defective, luckily there are ways around it.
