A lovely perspective and a nice shot of Stonehenge,
I live close by and never visit, far to many people

Thank you so much, Roger! I only visited because it was included in our tour. We were early and the first few minutes were tolerable until the masses came. I went back early.... A shame this place is so overrun.

Vielen Dank, Lothar! Ja, man hat da schon (außerhalb des geschützten Bereichs) Zelte und Bühnen gesehen für das Spektakel... Rein in die Anlage darf an dem Tag aber keiner.

Excellent composition and processing Gudrun. Good use of framing with the foreground stones. and nice timing to get the figure between the background stones.

Thank you, Graham! A pity one cannot walk between the stones any longer. From outside there are not many choices for photos, this was one of the best.

A fine image. I fully appreciate your comment to Nylonbleu earlier, that was my experience also. Sadly though, from the news, your image title is all too true.

Many thanks, George! The crowds are the reason I will never visit places like Machu Picchu, I'd probably be disappointed.
Yes, the world seems to have gone mad.:-(

Oh, I missed getting to get close to Stonehenge. This helps me make up for that. Thank you for such a well done image of the place. The person obviously giving it the needed perspective.

Thank you so much, Laura! The place is impressive but these days it's overrun with visitors, you need to be there as soon as it opens.
On my first visit ages ago you could walk between the stones, now you have to keep to the circular path around them, you have to take a shuttle bus from the visitor centre and everything is very much regulated so it has lost a lot of its magic atmosphere.

Yes, when we were there in 2022 we knew we couldn't get close, so we just drove past - but crazily the traffic was so bad that we could at least view from the car. Luckily on another trip we got to visit a stone circle north of Lancaster with almost no people and full access. Loved the energy there.

Glad you got to enjoy Stonehenge up close.

The stone circle up north was the better choice:-) There are quite a few and the surrounding landscape enhances the experience, I was much impressed wit Castlerigg stone circle and also with Long Meg and her Daughters.
