All the mountains are volcanic and well above 5000 to over 6000m high. Láscar is one of the most active volcanoes in Chile, its last eruption was in 2013.

Die Ecke ist einmalig schön, der Peter hat und schon viel gezeigt aus dieser Ecke.
Diese Farben, irgendwann will ich auch mal dort sein. und da und dort und anderswo :-)

Besten Dank, Uwe! Die Wüste fasziniert absolut, dazu der südliche Sternenhimmel- tolles Video! ESO ist etliche Stunden weiter südlich und gut halb so hoch wie ALMA.
Den Cerro Paranal habe ich leider nur mal aus dem Flieger gesehen und das ALMA war noch im Bau, als ich in San Pedro war- mich würde beides sehr interessieren!

Das ist meine dritte Version, die erste war damals mit Photostitch- grauenhaft;-) ICE bügelt dagegen doch manche Fehler automatisch aus, dazu habe ich jetzt noch vorher bei den Einzelfotos die Belichtung angeglichen...

So far they haven't found any in this place, but further south in Argentina, there are lots of dinos- they dig them up all the time:-)
