The Sunday Challenge: Metallic Art

The Sunday Challenge: Metallic Art

Challenge was ‘metallic art’

There are seven pieces of land-art in The Netherlands youngest province of Flevoland. On of these is the Polderland Garden of Love and Fire. Designed by Daniel Libeskind and inspired on a poem by the Spanish poet Juan de la Cruz. Daniel Libeskind is also the architect of the Jewish Museum in Berlin and of Ground Zero in New York.
The artwork consists of five straight lines: three ditches (‘canals’), a concrete walking path and a strip of land with plates cladded with aluminium.
The photo shows a small part of the aluminium plates, shone upon by the early morning sun. Hence the golden glow.
