ZigZag

ZigZag
This pathway leading from a Chinese temple on a small island in Jade Lake at Chateau Montelena Winery has built-in protection for the guests after they complete a wine tasting.
I wonder if they think that they are walking a straight line?

This photo was taken by a Kowa/SIX medium format film camera with a KOWA 1:5.6/110 lens and Hoya Skylight 1-b ø67 filter using Kodak Portra 160 film, the negative scanned by an Epson Perfection V600 and digitally rendered with Photoshop.

There might be a few just go straight on and over at that first Zig. Worth attending just for that. HFF.

No doubt that there have been a few such incidents of "too much zig" . . .

A striking red zigzag! It would be fun seeing people navigating that after the wine tasting;-)

In the old China many bridges were build in a zig-zag way to prevent evil. They think the bad ghosts couldn't catch you if you walk zig-zag but in this case I've doubts if it works! ;-D

A simple but nice composition. I'd have exposed it one stop less though...

I seek lighting and filters which maximize color vibrancy and contrast in the same way that I prefer strong coffee and hearty red wine!

Your answer makes me think that we have our monitors calibrated differently... I like colours vibrancy and contrast too, but in my monitor the first is lacking...

I have an Apple Cinema Display monitor that seems to give an extremely rich and high resolution image full of color and contrast. I have noticed that several other monitors on different computers have a different look.
Admittedly, I took this shot toward the source of sunlight with a lens hood to avoid lens glare. This would tend to "washout" and "fade" the color vibrance it would seem.

Ah! That's an explanation.

I would have confidence crossing that bridge. It looks well made. I hope the people who would be carrying me back, think the same!

I was the "designated driver" on this occasion. You could feel confident that I would guide you safely for round two . . .
