The weight of the soul.
2 November : In remembrance of all my beloved ones.
*******************************************
Many people like to believe in the idea of a soul, and we often look to the empirical world to bolster our religious or spiritual beliefs, searching for corroborating physical evidence. Just such scientific proof seemed to come in 1907,when a Massachusetts doctor named Duncan MacDougall devised experiments that he expected would actually measure the soul. Using six terminally ill patients on a specially-constructed scale bed, he measured their weight before, during, and after death. His results were mixed, but he concluded that there was indeed a very slight loss of weight, 21 grams on average.

If I had such wings.......
belle semaien Annemarie !
Bonne semaine Annemarie !
(sconcertante pensare che l'anima abbia un peso...)
Beautiful shot
Congrats on Explore.
Congratulations on Explore Front page, my friend, and have a wonderful week :-))
Beautiful.
But.. I dont believe the "soul/spirit" can be weighed.
(By the way, I thought it could be good news for our times so cultivating the body: there is no thick and thin of souls.)
;-)
I wish you beautiful day, my friend !
A great tribute....
i see a wonderful image !

I had read something about that experiment ...
Irgendwie auch tröstlich.
Don't forgetting that the word soul is a purely religious concepte. We must be found a special LABORATORY devoid of MATTER for the success of experiance !
Look : Man creates the computer. One wonders if the computer is able to understand who is man ? The poor computer will tell us a man is : screen, keyboard, mouse, and CPU, RAM... etc ?
It's great in the photo, the heart travel in the sky ! The soul seeks his origin, our creator the inconceivable !
