Dry dam

Dry dam
I'm not able to do much photography lately, so this is from a dip into the archives - and my first digital camera. It shows a dam on our former rural property during what became known as the "Millenium Drought" which ran from about 1998 to 2009. The very minimal fence around the dam was needed to stop cattle entering and potentially becoming bogged. It worked well, helped by 10,000V and the cattle stayed out. HFF and best wishes for the weekend, everyone.

Thank you, Rosa. While we always had other sources of water, the limited pasture growth was an ongoing worry. I'm very pleased to advise that the fires now are extinguished by good and widespread rain in February, also that Pauline's condition is improving.

Many thanks, Steve. The drought helped me decide that "there were other things to do". :-) I'm glad to advise that good and widespread rains in February have extinguished the fires here.
