I meant to find one and get a close up but for various reasons it wasn't to be. I know I promised. Next time, Isabel!

The twisted shapes are so beautiful and I love the shadows.

Andy Rodker club has replied to Jean
Thank you, Jean.
As commented in a reply to Isabel, I fully intended to get a close up of a gnarled trunk but was unable to do so (reason? A sneezing fit, scrambling about for tissues and removing mask for purpose of blowing nose, the sun going in, a family with myriad unmasked toddlers suddenly descending, etc., etc!).
Another time!

Los olivos son árboles respetables por su longeva historia. ¡Ah, y de los más caros!
Te han quedado bien.

Andy Rodker club has replied to José Manuel Polo club
Thank you, José Manuel.
These obviously were planted here as part of the park creation. I suspect there is a profitable business in old olive trees for municipal plantings. But I don't criticise it. Good business for some and pleasing aspects for others!

Old olive trees are very photogenic.................and it's lovely to see so many of them in one place.

Beautifully captured Andy!
Andy Rodker club has replied to Keith Burton club
They were bought as a job lot by the council when the park was created in the 70s, Keith. There is a big business in gnarly old olive trees for ornamental parks, etc. They preserve the old'uns in the south precisely for this!

Andy Rodker club has replied to Keith Burton club
CRIKEY!!! I see what you mean Keith!!!
And by the way I was a bit taken aback to see the name of my old school there: Sutton Manor!

Yes, full marks to the council official who had these brought in when they created this public park back in the 70s!
