My notes explain it Amelia: Siesta time! There is an ageing population in the countryside, the young long ago fled rural poverty for 'hope' in the cities. It is only the elderly who adhere to the siesta tradition. and as they represent the majority of the population here, you have your answer!

Nice one- what about sitting down and asking for a coffee? Belated HFF, Andy!

About an hour before we had been sitting here enjoying the roast lamb, the speciality of the area (as is their suckling pig) and had finished the meal with a coffee of course!!! The square was humming! We than had a post-prandial stroll round the town and passed the restaurant again on the way back to the car! Transformation of scene!

Great to have the Spanish music playing when enjoying this quiet street scene Andy. I did wonder where the people were until I read your notes, - I had not given siesta time a thought! Nice to have a clear shot like this. You would have to be up really early to get a street shot with so few people here. Beautifully captured and a belated HFF to you. Have a good Sunday
